Randoms Thoughts On A Tuesday Morning.

This morning has been a jumble in my brain. So I figured that I may as well document it to show just how random and disconnected my thought patterns can be.

There is water on to boil for coffee to be made right now, and while I love coffee, it’s really because I had a cigarette craving and decided that caffeine was a good substitute this morning.

It’s also a bright, sunny, very hot early summer day. And seeing the mid-morning temperature in the mid 20’s made me think of the sprinkler in the little parkette down the street from my apartment. I wonder if the city has turned on the water yet.

On Twitter a friend mentioned needing to find something as a place holder during the Habs off-season. I suggested the Blue Jays which made me remember a story my mom told Caitlin and I. Apparently when I was young I told everyone that when I grew up I was going to be a police officer and also play first base for the Blue Jays. But the kicker was that neither of my employers would be allowed to know about each other. I’m not sure what the reason would be, but that’s the story.

On the Habs front I’m already looking forward to next season and some of the changes that may come to the team. And this morning I have always wondered out loud on my Twitter feed if the Canadiens can move Sergei and Andrei Kostitsyn to the Maple Leafs for Tomas Kaberle. I also wonder, with the strength of the Habs minor league players, if we could move our first round pick to the Leafs as they don’t have one. Leafs General Manager Brian Burke has been on record saying that he would like to have a first round pick to give to his scouting staff. I’ll leave the hockey stuff there though. I have a feeling I will have more Habs stuff to write about soon.

My smile got big this morning when I learned about my starting salary at my new job. It’s not millions, but it’s more than I’ve made since I moved to Toronto and will pay the bills and get my feet back under me.

It is #smokefreeme day 5. It has been a long time since I went this long without smoking at least 5 cigarettes in a day. My daily average was 12 or 13 a day, half a pack. The worst I ever got was in college when I was very close to a pack a day.

I have got 2 smart women that I’ve never mentioned here before that may soon be here as guest posters. I’m excited to see what they come up with. I love the idea of more than just me writing here.

I’m looking to expand my network on Twitter. I put a call out for people to suggest writers, baseball fans, Torontonians, boys, girls and all cool friends. If I should be following you or someone you know please tell me so that I can.

I think that’s all for this morning’s randomness. We’ll just have to wait and see how the afternoon goes.
