Thank You My Shepherd – A Prayer
Hey there world. I’ve always promised that I would never be preachy about my religion. That I wouldn’t point and say things like, “be like me, believe like me.”
So I want to make it clear that this is not what I’m doing right now.
Over the weekend I was thinking about my faith and such and ended up writing what follows these intro paragraphs. It appears to be my first prayer. I don’t know what else to call it.
And I’m not asking you to use it, love it, read into it or agree with it. I just wanted to share.
Because while I’m not preachy and pushy, I’m not ashamed either.

Lord,
We recognise that we are not always the easiest flock to watch over. We don’t always stay together as we should. We don’t always love and care for each other as we should. But it is with your guidance and love that we are brought back together to survive the stormy weather and the attacks of our predators.
You shepherd us with your loving staff and care for us as we should care for each other. It is your love that shelters and protects us from the rain and sleet of the storm and the teeth and fury of the beast. And it is with our love that we are meant to repay you.
We talk often about our love for you, but we need to do a better job showing it with our actions. We need to stay together as a flock. And we need to love and protect each other as you have loved and protected us.
Stay with us as we move forward in our day to day lives. All of us, members of your flock, connected to each other by your love. And help us to remember that it is your love and spirit that make us one in times of need.
