Of Laundry And Blogging – Saturday Morning Style

Years ago I used to sit in the laundry room of my apartment building and write furiously in a spiral notebook. Most of the time I was writing my (yet to be completed) novel*. Other times is was scribbling down bad poetry, or maybe mediocre poetry or even just random words.

* Small Town Senior, 18 and counting is in the “favourites” section on the side bar.

Back then I never dreamed I’d have a blog to post my thoughts and rants and questions on. The world of the internet was a mystery to me. Except for MySpace that is, I was living the life over there. I had custom backgrounds and music playing and my novel lived there for a while and even hit the 1,000 view mark which was pretty cool.

But now, my goodness, I’m on Twitter, Facebook and Empire Avenue. I write this blog and have written for other sites (recently even) and I even blog about movies for a living*. I’m all over the dang place.

* www.watchdisneymovies.net is my current pet project at work. It’s also in the “favourites” section.

And still, though I’ve moved cities and have had all of these new things come into my life, I sit here with the laundry and type a blog entry on my BlackBerry.

I guess it’s true what they say, the more things change the more they stay the same.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
