A Long Weekend Quick Stop!
Hey y’all.
I’m sitting in the front room at my mom’s awesome place out in the country and soaking in the long weekend. It’s fantastic and I wish that you were all here to see it.
In fact, I took a couple of pictures from the back deck while I was drinking my morning coffee and threw them up on Twitter. And while they don’t do the yard justice, they make me happy.
This is just one of those places that I can come and let things melt away. Whether it’s rum and cokes in the hot tub, or martinis at the kitchen table til 2:30 in the morning or sitting out back with the dog and coffee and cigarettes I’m at peace.
It’s also awesome to go through my boxes of stuff in the basement because it’s essentially like shopping for things that I already loved enough to buy once. Today’s finds include 3 hats, a Habs fridge magnet and my copy of Friday Night Lights (the novel).
The novel is key because the TV busted this week. So there will be more music and reading and writing going on chez moi while I decide how badly I want to pick up a cheap one, or wait a couple paychecks and step up for a sweet one.
That also means that if I get my shit together you may have more posts to read in the next little while and I could find myself in a routine that includes more writing at home instead of just at work. I think that my head space is ready to allow for that now.
So, enjoy the rest of your long weekend, be jealous of the pictures from mom’s back yard, and be ready for more words, thoughts, rants and ramblings in the coming days.
