Of Laundry And Blogging 2 – The Sequel
I while ago I wrote about writing at the laundry mat. And what do you know, I’m back again today doing the exact same thing.
I’m sitting here watching the dryer spin around and around and I’m typing furiously on my outdated BlackBerry*. I love it. There are 2 gentlemen to my left speaking over each other in an Eastern European language I don’t understand. There is a group of women at the front of the laundry mat chatting and side walk watching. And then there’s me. The late 20’s dude with his cheap coffee and his head down. We are what’s awesome about my community. There’s not 1 demographic, there’s not one way of life, but we’re all together at the laundry mat.

I still can’t tell you what it is about washers and dryers that inspires me to start writing. What a weird friggin’ place to find inspiration. But, I’m not usually one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Maybe one day I’ll buy my own laundry mat so I can just pop in and sit for a while. What a lame and awesome dream all at the same time.
Or maybe someday when I’ve got the house that I dream of I’ll put the washer and dryer in my office. That sounds like a much easier plan to me.
Either way, the goal is to keep writing, creating, expressing, playing with words and sharing the outcome with all of you. That’s the fun part. And if once in a while we say something to each other that brings out a smile or a laugh or a thought that’s awesome.
My dryers are counting down to zero, so I should probably put away my BlackBerry and get ready to fold my warm, fresh clothes. It’s okay to be jealous, we all know fresh out of the dryer stuff is the best.
Here’s to you my friends, a big thank you for being with me for almost a full year at The Reviews Are In, much love to all of you for sticking around.

Even in the dead heat on the hottest day in August, I still love putting on clothes fresh out of the dryer!
