With Love, Thanks and Memories

Good morning kids.

It’s been a while since I’ve been around with new content.  For that I’m sorry.

I’ve been pounding away at the keyboard for the work thing a lot.  And while I know that’s not an excuse, there really hasn’t been much else in the bloggable realm of life that I’ve been dying to get up here for you.

However, it’s Monday, and here we are, so I figured that I would bang away for a few minutes before I get to this morning’s hockey stuff at the office.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has offered their condolences to me over the last few days.  I lost an old friend from home in a tragic car accident early Thursday morning.  Brenna passed as a result of her injuries and the news has saddened many people.

I knew Brenna for a long time, starting from when she was just a little girl and continuing in a closer relationship as she became a teenager and even a grown-up.  She was vibrant, smart, caring and a very special girl.

Let it never be said that she didn’t follow her dream.  Everything that she did was to make it possible to be with the horses as much as she could.

Thursday I will go home and say my goodbyes to her, hug our friends and her family and share stories of our time together years ago.

Brenna’s family has suggested that anyone wishing to honor her memory may do so with a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.  I would lovingly invite you to do the same if you wish.

Secondly, and on a much happier note, I would like to thank my dear friend Regina for a fantastic holiday party on Saturday.  The #ABCme hashtag was a trending topic in Toronto while we gathered and ate and drank and shared the holiday spirit.  The hostess was amazing, the guests enjoyed themselves and I know that I speak for everyone when I say thank you one more time.

Lastly, thank you all for your support over this past year.  There have been ups and downs and I know that I haven’t always been easy to deal with.  I thank you for your support in my new professional life and you sports fans for checking out the links with the stories that I’ve written and posted.

I thank new friends and old friends for time spent together, random chats, heartfelt conversations and the hugs that seem to last longer in memory than they ever could in real time.

You all are the reason that I’m still rocking today.

I hope that you all have a good Monday and that your week is smooth and full of love.
