What Kind Of Geek Are You?
In the end I may not be the biggest geek you know. But I’m a geek none the less. And I challenge you to tell me that you aren’t a geek when the criteria are this: If you geek out about something, you are a “blank” geek.

In the end there are going to be things that some people love and some people hate. And my glowing review of the city may not be enough to change your mind if you’ve already made it. But, if you haven’t decided to write Toronto off, if you’ve never been here, if it’s been a long, long time since you rode the street car, or if are ready to give it a second chance, these are some of the things that I love.
This is my Toronto.
There is a novel that I started in 2005 I think. A collection of memories and stories about me and baseball that got rolling last winter. 2 zombie stories that I started in the last 6 months. A superhero gig that I got into a couple months ago as well. And then there’s this blog and the re-launch. There have been reviews and posts and Twitter updates and crack pipe ideas that come from all over the place.
So yesterday I told everyone to call their mom. It was a good idea, I stand by that. And as my dad said, don’t forget dads. And the reason I mentioned that is because my mom had just called me the day before… and then I got to thinking, and this is what became of that.
I’ve been thinking. And what I’ve been thinking is that I should really introduce myself. And I’m not talking about the usual, hi I’m a 28 year old writer who loves sunsets and sports. Just because it’s true doesn’t mean it’s relevant. I will add though that I’m a Pisces who digs sports.
It starts with Germany tonight, and then Russia tomorrow if the game goes well. And that showdown with Russia will be the biggest mid-week hockey game in a long, long time for Canadian fans and hockey fans the world over. It will be Sidney Crosby vs. Alexander Ovechkin with the winner going home, no medal, no parade, no national anthem, no glory, just a loss and disappointment. It is going to happen to someone, here’s hoping that it’s not Sidney. As a side note, if it does come down to Canada vs. Russia look out for Alex Ovechkin, this kid hates losing, and more than that, he hates losing to Sid. Determination and possibly domination will personified by Ovechkin himself. I love it.
So I know that we’re knee deep in winter at this point. But I’ve got summer on my mind.
I’m a lover of music. Lots of music. I fall asleep listening to Country. I clean listening to Pop. I rock out listening to Rock. I bliss out and to Show Tunes. And so on.
It’s a huge day in Toronto. Mark it on your calendars. January 31, 2010, the day Brian Burke put his big blue and white mid-season stamp on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

-Read more comic books. I enjoy them, so why not.
-Eat healthier/ better. I don’t think that the 2 have to mean the same thing.
-Write more. I write quite a bit now, but I’d like to really hammer out a couple of significant pieces.
