A Gutsy Affair – Help Support The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada!

A Gutsy Affair, Supporting The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada

This is the year 2011, we have 3D TV, HD everything and more than most of us will ever need. But what we still don’t have are cures to some of the most debilitating diseases in the world.

This spring a group of amazing people have come together to help remedy that issue. This Thursday, April 14th, A Gutsy Affair will be held at Revival (783 College St, Toronto) starting at 7:30. The event is being held in support of the Toronto Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada was established in 1974 by a group of parents whose children had been diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and felt that there wasn’t enough information available to help their children. Since then the CCFC has become a world leader in research and treatment development in an effort to help everyone stricken with these diseases, not only at home in Canada, but all around the world.

If any of you have ever known someone affected by this disease you know that it is awful. It doesn’t care what your plans are for life. It doesn’t care when it strikes. And to this point there is no cure. The CCFC plans to change that.

Thursday night A Gutsy Affair becomes the latest fundraising effort to support the cause. The event includes an open Martini bar, raffle and silent auction as well as music and dancing all night long!

Co-Chairs Jenn Bell, CJ Tremblay and Neil D’Souza are all excited to have some great entertainment lined up to go along with some amazing raffle prizes and auction items. Hosting this year’s event will be TV personality Cabral Richards (Sportsnet, The Score, The Marilyn Dennis Show). Richards is a funny and personable dude who I have had the  privilage of communicating with in the past and I have absolutely no doubt that he will be engaging and energetic with the crowd all night long. The musical guests for the evening are local talent The Pigott Brothers. Not only are they talented (trust me) they are also handsome and charming (trust me again). Add to these two acts DJ Agile who will supply dancing music once those martinis start kicking in.

Nobody is hiding the fact that this event is being held in an effort to raise a lot of money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t all have a lot of fun while we do it!

As fantastic as the entertainment is sure to be, the raffle and silent auction may be the belles of the ball. Raffle prizes include a 7 night, all inclusive Vacation to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico and a 1 night stay at The Grand Hotel and Suites. Both of which I would love to take home with me at the end of the night. Meanwhile, the auction includes a 12 person suite for a 2011-2012 regular season Toronto Marlies game, Membership to the Art Gallery of
Ontario, 4 Club VIP tickets to see the Toronto Blue Jays vs. the Philadelphia Phillies at Rogers Centre on Canada Day and a VIA Rail trip for 2 to Montreal with a 2 night stay at the W Hotel. There are more raffle prizes and auction items available and they are all worth checking out and paying for a chance to win.

If you are interested in supporting the CCFC by attending the event please visit the A Gutsy Affair website for ticket information. And if you aren’t able to make it to Revival on Thursdsay night but you would still like to make a donation to help us find a cure you can make an online donation!

There are only a few days left until A Gutsy Affair, but that is still plenty of time to get the word out to the world and help support the event.

Please help spread the news and sell out the event and raise even more money than the organizers could ever have hoped for!

You guys are Awesome!
