Kids Help Phone – Here For Our Children Since 1989!
Over the last few months we have all heard some very sad stories about young people who have been bullied to the point where they feel like they can no longer live. We’ve seen tweets from students who are having hard times at home or in school. We’ve seen videos of young people who are looking for the light.
And the sad part is, that no matter how hard we try, there will never be a day when young people are stress and depression free. However, since 1989 there has been an organization in Canada that has been dedicated to assisting those who need it.
Kids Help Phone launched in 1989 and have been a great resource. In 2010 Kids Help Phone estimates that 225,622 counseling contacts were made. That equals more than 4,300 phone and online contacts per week.
All across Canada, Kids Help Phone is available to young people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their professional counsellors are always ready to help. Always.
