WayHome Announces Neil Young + Promise Of The Real and more…

It’s been a long time since the initial WayHome artist announcement. We knew there’d be additions but today’s announcement certainly surprised me, in the best possible way with Neil Young + Promise Of The Real. Quoting Shannon McNevan, Executive Director of Republic Live, “It’s a true honor to welcome a legend like Neil Young to the WayHome Music and Arts Festival”.Neil Young + Promise Of The Real

Neil Young invited Promise of The Real to join him for his latest project and WayHome is thrilled to have been added as a tour stop.

In case you didn’t know, Promise of The Real is fronted by Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson and they’ve been playing together since 2008 and Lukas is a Neil Young fan. Pulling a quote from the Band’s website earlier this year…

“We have an incredible announcement to make. Neil Young has honored us by asking us to accompany him on his next recording project! Unfortunately, this means we have to reschedule all of our shows in January except the 17th, but we promise we will make it up to you and in the meantime we will be creating some beautiful music for you all to enjoy. Just as a fun fact, the band actually started when Anthony Logerfo and I met at a Neil Young concert…and the name “Promise of the Real” comes from the lines of a Neil Young song called “Walk On”

“Some get stoned, some get strange…
Sooner or later, it all gets real..
Walk on..”

Talk about full circle”

If the goal of the festival is to offer a wide range of music, to include emerging artists, as well as artists who have reached a legendary status, WayHome has succeeded.

Additional artists added today include:
