Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley Returning to Boots and Hearts as 2016 Headliners
Early this morning Republic Live announced that Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley would be headlining the 2016 Boots and Hearts Festival. The Festival entering its 5th year just keeps getting better and better. Just ask the Canadian Country Music Association and Canadian Music Week, who have both awarded Boots & Hearts with “Festival of the Year” awards. This year’s dates are August 4th through 7th so book your vacation time now and get your tickets!
Tim McGraw was one of the original headliners from the inaugural Boots and Hearts in 2012 and we’re thrilled that he’s back. Tim really knows how to put on a show. Tim has sold more than 40 million records, has 10 number 1 country albums and 36 number 1 singles. He’s won 14 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 3 People’s Choice Awards.
With all of that, and more under his belt and with the release of “Damn Country Music” this week and a few scheduled tour dates in 2016, he’ll be bringing his A game to Burl’s Creek, we’d expect nothing less.
Dierks Bentley was one of our highlights from 2013 and it may have been said that he deserved a better spot in the line up. Well he’s got it, a headlining spot. His talent is undeniable. His energy is infectious. He gives 100% and looks like he’s having the best time of his life up on stage. Releasing records since 2003 Dierks has been putting in the time, putting out the songs and making his way up the country music ladder.
Dierks has been touring to promote “Riser”, the current release which has garnered him 3 number 1 hits, “I Hold On”, “Drunk on a Plane”, and “Say You Do”. He’s sold over 5 million records, has had 13 singles hit the top of the chart. From the beginning he’s been winning awards starting with his Breakthrough Video of the Year award from the CMT Music Awards for “What Was I Thinking” and recently won Video of the year for “Drunk on a Plane” and he’s earned 11 Grammy nominations. I’d say he was due for a headlining spot. I can hardly wait.
So we now know three of the bands for 2016 Boots and Hearts lineup. Let’s not forget our Emerging Artist Winner from 2015, The James Barker Band. Those boys will be back and they’ll be kicking it on the main stage. They’ve been playing shows and honing their sound. They just finished playing a stint in Nashville and they’ll be back in Ontario this month. They’ve got a busy schedule and if you want to check them out before the festival, we’d highly recommend that.
We’re pretty excited about the lineup announcement and we can hardly wait for 2016. Each year Boots and Hearts one ups itself and we can hardly wait for the next announcement!
