Somebody Told Me: The Killers WayHome 2016 Preview!

1

For 12 years we’ve been listening, singing, and dancing along to songs like Mr. Brightside, When You Were Young, and Somebody Told Me… and in late July 2016 we’ll be standing in a crowd of thousands of people doing it all LIVE and in person at WayHome.

The Killers, all the way from Sin City, Las Vegas will be headed north to entertain the Canadian masses as main stage headliners. It’s a set that we’ve very much looking forward to – and a band that we’re excited to be crossing off my bucket list.

The Killers Black and White WayHome 2016 PreviewIn 2015, at the 1st WayHome festival, Brandon Flowers took the stage to entertain the crowd with his solo material, and he must have enjoyed the view, or the crowd, or the atmosphere, or something, because he’s coming back, bringing the band, and we’re hoping that Dave, Mark, and Ronnie all enjoy their time in the fields near the barn as much as their lead singer.

Having never seen The Killers live, the most we can do is watch a bunch of live video on YouTube to prepare ourselves. We can also go back and listen to Hot Fuss, Sam’s Town, Day & Age, and Battle Born to brush up on some of the songs we might not know all the words too… because we’re hoping for a 2 hour set, and that means we’re going to hear more than just the songs I’ve been singing at karaoke over the last decade or so.

The band has released 29 singles, which is an impressive number, but the most surprising thing is that none of them have hit #1 on the US charts (with the exception of When You Were Young on the US Alternative charts in in 2006) in the entirety of that run. And on the album side, Sam’s Town got as high as #2 on the charts… but the lack of top of the charts success hasn’t stopped them from becoming HUGE fan favourites. Not at all.

We fully expect the crowd go all out when The Killers take the stage this July at WayHome, we know that we will… after all, we’re fans too!

And don’t forget, tickets are still available for WayHome right now for only $229.99 (that’s less than $77 a day for 3 days of crazy good music) and camp sites (shareable for up to 6 people) are available for $129.99!

Get your passes today and we’ll see you there!!!
