Dying Surfer Meets His Maker: All Them Witches WayHome 2016 Preview!

All Them Witches 1

Next on our WayHome preview list is  All Them Witches. Formed in 2012, the band calls Nashville home and they’re a great example of the fact that Music City is about more than just country music.

Throw together a little delta blues, a little southern soul with some psychedelic rock hints and you’ve got All Them Witches. The band’s name comes from the classic Roman Polanski film, Rosemary’s Baby, and lends a supernatural or magic feeling and that sums up well what’s happening with the music.

Just coming off some European dates, the guys are taking a quick break and then they’re back out on the road. Starting with The Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta this May, they’ll be hitting the festival scene right through the summer including WayHome in July.

All Them Witches is made up of band members Ben McLeod on guitar, Robby Staebler on drums, Michael Parks on bass and vocals and on the keyboard, Allan Van Cleave. The boys come from very different backgrounds and they have varying musical tastes and influences including ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Dr. John, Black Sabbath with a dash of classical thrown in. Somehow, it all comes together and just works.

Dying Surfer Meets His Maker is the band’s current release and it’s like nothing else we’ve ever heard. All Them Witches have been getting quite a bit of attention in the US including Carson Daly and Nashville radio station WRLT’s weekly live series Nashville Sunset.

We’ve checked out some live footage on YouTube and we’re really looking forward to seeing this band up close and in person.
