Catfish and the Bottlemen at 102.1 The Edge – Sugar Beach Sessions
We love a last-minute addition to the schedule and that’s just what we got from The Edge yesterday. Catfish and the Bottlemen would be doing a Sugar Beach Session and we were thrilled to be able to make it.
Ryan Evan McCann, known to fans as “Van”, founded Catfish and the Bottlemen in 2007. Formed in Llandudno, Wales they started out promoting themselves by playing in parking lots after other bands’ shows. Their debut album, The Balcony, was released in 2007 and reached number 10 on the UK Albums chart. “Bondy”, Johnny Bond, who accompanied Van today, joined the band in 2014.
They’re out to support their new album The Ride and they’ve got a bunch of US dates coming up but they’ll be back in Toronto on October 14th at the Danforth Music Hall. Then the band heads home to the UK and after that on to Australia. Check out tour dates here!
I thought it was awesome that once they finished up their set the boys headed outside to chat with fans. Nice!
