Only The Lonely: Colony House at WayHome 2017
Taking the WayBright Stage on Sunday at 3:00 PM were Franklin, Tennessee based band Colony House. It was bright, sunny and smoking hot but the four-piece alt rock band played a high energy set to a very enthusiastic crowd.
Named after the housing complex where some of the guys lived in Franklin, TN the band has a nice following in the US and we were glad to get to see them. They’ve played Late Night with Seth Myers, they’ve got 10 million+ Spotify streams and their touring schedule is nuts, with over 200 shows a year.
They’re currently out on their first headlining tour with 37 dates across North America, including WayHome. Colony House’s new album Only the Lonely came out in January and they’re doing everything they can to get it out in front of the most fans as possible.
Colony House is Caleb Chapman on lead vocals and guitar and Will Chapman on drums. Yes, they’re brothers. With Scott Mills on guitar and additional vocals and Parke Cottrell on bass, keys, additional vocals they’ve got an alt/indie/rock sound that was perfect for waking up and getting our day started.
Colony House brings us great lyrics, great crowd interaction, full, rich guitar sounds, badass bass lines and amazing anthemic drums. Caleb’s voice is perfect for this genre and we’re reminded of The Killers while listening. We’re still listening to this band today.
