Still The Same: Sugarland Returns with Single and Video Release

Sugarland is back! Officially, fully, and in audio and visual formats, we have new music from the duo of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush.

Ready to hear it? Press play on Still The Same!

The last time we heard new music from Sugarland was in 2011 when they released Run (featuring Matt Nathanson), but what we remember from years past are the hits and fan favourites…

It seems like the bands knows this, because in the music video for Still The Same, they show off a little taste of memory lane with a quick montage of older music videos. Have a look.

Still The Same, while new, feels like it belongs perfectly in the Sugarland library (the name really does work well). The duo has come back to each other and captured the sound and feel that always made a Sugarland song feel like Sugarland.

The understated, but well executed, harmonies of Bush with Nettles work perfectly – and they compliment the strength and star power that Jennifer Nettles has always been able to show in her voice.

We haven’t had the chance to talk to Sugarland about the new music yet. But there’s a moment in the music video that we like to imagine is the duo listening to playback and recognizing that things sounds good…

As country music fans, and fans of what Sugarland has released and accomplished throughout their career (seriously -> Baby Girl, Stuck Like Glue, Stay, Want To, Already Gone, All I Want To Do…) we’re taking Still The Same as a sign that we should be very excited and ready for more new music in 2018. And we’re very hopeful that we’ll get the chance to see Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush on stage to play the new music and the hits soon too.
