New Music Spotlight with Dear Rouge and More
New Music from Dear Rouge, RALPH, Leah Daniels, Caveboy and FRANKIIE
We’re excited to follow up International Women’s Day with a strong selection of female voices in this edition of the New Music Spotlight. Artists from Vancouver, Toronto, Uxbridge, and Montreal come together to make up our feature, and we love all of them.
Check out these five new songs, and leave a comment telling us which of these tracks by Dear Rouge, RALPH, Leah Daniels, Caveboy, and FRANKIIE will be added to your playlist.
Let’s do this!
Artist: Dear Rouge
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: Pop / Rock
Related: July Talk, Ivory Hours, Arkells
Song: Chains
Notes: Dear Rouge does what they do on this song, offering a fantastic vocal performance over a beat and musical track. Chains comes from the brand new album, PHASES (track #6), and is a great introduction to the new music. Enjoy!

Artist: RALPH
Hometown: Toronto, ON
Genre: Pop / Disco / Synth
Related: Charlotte Cardin, The Darcys
Song: September Fades
Notes: As one of Toronto’s hottest up-and-coming artists, RALPH continues to make waves with September Fades. The self-described hypothetical love child of Sade & Stevie Nicks & Donna Summer, she has another catchy track that will only serve to add to her growing popularity.

Artist: Leah Daniels
Hometown: Uxbridge, ON
Genre: Country
Related: Meghan Patrick, MacKenzie Porter, Lindsay Broughton
Song: 1st
Notes: Daniels shows off her range in her first single since 2015. 1st is a strong announcement that the Ontario artist is back on the scene. And, if this is a sign of what’s to come for Leah Daniels, we’re sure people will be pleased.
You never forget your first.

Artist: Caveboy
Hometown: Montreal, QC
Genre: Alt Dream Pop
Related: Parallels, Youngblood, Common Deer
Song: Landslide
Notes: It’s no secret that Caveboy have become a favourite of ours over the last year. And with Landslide, these three Montreal musicians have given us another reason to fall for them. We’re hopeful that the new single is a tease for a full album later this year… if we’re lucky.

Artist: FRANKIIE
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Genre: DreamRock
Related: Kool Kat, goldkey, Liberty
Song: Glory Me
Notes: This four-piece group is back after time off to focus on themselves and life. One started a fashion line while another released a solo EP. One became a school teacher, and the other moved to a small island community to work and surf – but now, Glory Me is here, and is the first single from their upcoming, debut full-length album later in 2018.
