5 Reasons We’re Excited to See Lindsay Ell at Boots & Hearts 2018
Lindsay Ell is a star. She’s a singer, songwriter, guitar picker, from Calgary making her way to the top of the country music world. And on Sunday, August 12 at Boots & Hearts 2018, she’ll hit the Front Porch Stage to put on a show.
In the last year, Ell has released her new album, The Project, and a full cover of John Mayer’s classic album (her all-time favourite), Continuum (The Continuum Project), and fans have had the chance to see exactly what she’s capable of. She has also been on stages all over Canada and the United States in that time, playing shows that leave fans in love with her talent and wanting more.
We are excited to see Lindsay Ell at B&H a follow-up to the show we saw at The Phoenix during Canadian Music Week 2018, and have broken down our Top 5 reasons to get you excited too!

5 Reasons We’re Excited to See Lindsay Ell at Boots & Hearts 2018
1. Her Guitar Slinging
Lindsay Ell is one of the finest guitar playing singers in country music. To watch her stand at centre stage and shred, while she’s doing the singing and headline entertaining, is amazing.
At CMW we watched her have a guitar battle with her lead guitar player, and she went toe-to-toe with him through some classic rock riffs. And in the last few years, she’s had the chance to share the stage with other big-time country music guitar playing singers Keith Urban and Brad Paisley, proving herself as their peer.
We’re ready for more of that at Boots & Hearts!
2. Her Songs
Lindsay Ell’s library of songs is well known and well loved by fans on the country scene in Canada and the United States.
On Spotify, she has reached 10,000,000+ spins combined on Criminal, Waiting On You, and By The Way. On Canadian country radio, Ell reached #1 with Criminal. And she’s’ even surpassed a quarter of a million Spotify plays on her cover of John Mayer’s Slow Dancing In A Burning Room.
All of those plays and chart success is awesome, but it’s not the whole story.
Lindsay Ell has put seven songs in the Top 25 on Canadian country radio, she’s got deep cut favourites, and we can’t wait to hear her set at Boots & Hearts 2018!
3. Her Stage Presence
Lindsay Ell is a great performer. Fact.
With her combination of killer songs, guitar talent, and energy, Ell has all of the tools she needs to entertain the hell out of a crowd. We’ve seen it ourselves, we’ve talked to other people who have seen it, and we know that thousands of fans at Boots & Hearts will be packed in at the Front Porch Stage to see it on Sunday, August 12.
On stage we’re set to see her be awesome on her guitar, flip her hair, engage the crowd, sing her songs, own the spotlight, and keep all eyes on her from start to finish.
It’s what she does!
4. The Special Moments
Live music is special because it creates special moments and we’re looking forward to those moments during Lindsay Ell’s set.
We don’t know what’s going to happen, but we’re willing to bet that something unexpected or special or magical will take place and capture our attention and affection.
In 2016, Lindsay Ell brought fellow Canadian, Jessica Mitchell, to the stage for a special guest appearance. Lindsay herself has been a special guest during live shows. And there’s a chance, maybe, that we’ll see a special guest on the Front Porch Stage this year.
Maybe we’ll hear an unexpected cover? Maybe there will be a Boots & Hearts guitar battle? Maybe Lindsay will play a medley we love?
We have no idea what’s going to happen.
But we’re excited for it!
5. The Love for Canadian Women in Country Music
There is a ton of talent on the Canadian country music scene, and the women in the genre are a huge part of that.
Performers like Lindsay Ell, Jess Moskaluke, Madeline Merlo and Kira Isabella are all radio hit-makers and will all be at Boots & Hearts 2018. And when all of them, Ell included, take the stage for their turn in front of the crowd, we expect a lot of love to be shown for them.
We know that country music fans know the songs, they’ve followed the careers, and they’ve seen the shows. All of that is going to add up to a great experience.
Lindsay Ell and all of the women making great country music in Canada deserve that love, and we’ll be happy to see it.
