Default Reunites for Cross Canada Tour with Stone Temple Pilots & Seether

Dallas Smith Default Reunion Feature

Dallas Smith is returning to his rock and roll roots as Default has announced their reunion to cross Canada on tour with Stone Temple Pilots and Seether!

Canadian rock fans will remember Default’s #1 hits, Count On Me, Deny, and Wasting My Time, as well as their eight other Top 10 singles from the early 2000s. They were a force, with heavy rotation spins and fan favourites from all four of their albums. And while they disbanded in 2013 (after Smith made his country debut with Jumped Right In, in 2012), Dallas has kept their memory alive, playing Default tracks as part of his live show ever since.

The news that Smith, (lead vocals), Jeremy Hora (lead guitar), Dave Benedict (bass) and Danny Craig (drums) are getting the band back together is exciting for music fans and opens the door to the possibility of more projects from the foursome. Who knows where this may lead.

The reunion was teased by Smith across his social media channels in past weeks, but with no details (new music, tour, rerelease, etc.) available, fans were left to make their guesses and predictions.

To say that we didn’t predict a tour with Stone Temple Pilots would be an understatement!

Note: We don’t know if this is going to happen – but we’d totally be into an EP from Default sometime in 2019.

It’s interesting to note that this Default tour will bring Dallas Smith back to many of the same cities he visited on the 2017 Side Effects Tour. But this time, instead of headlining, he’ll be helping to open the show and get the crowd revved up for the headliner.

We know how strong nostalgia is when it comes to music. We know that music brings back memories and stories and feelings. We love that about all genres of music. And when Default gets back on stage this fall, it’s all going to come rushing back!

Add in the hits and fan favourites that Canadian rock and roll audiences are going to hear from Stone Temple Pilots and Seether, and these 15 dates are going to be a whole lot of fun, with a ton of musical memories and moments included.
