Hootie & The Blowfish Hook Up with Barenaked Ladies for 2019 Tour
Nineties superstars Hootie & The Blowfish are back in a big way, announcing a 44-date tour for 2019, and more!
The Group Therapy Tour starts on May 30 with special guests, (Canadian Music Hall of Famers) Barenaked Ladies and hits major venues (The Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Gardens, Budweiser Stage), state fairs and more across five calendars months. It’s the first full tour for the Only Wanna Be With You stars in more than 10 years. Both bands bring a long list of hits and fan favourites to each and every stage they’ll play on the tour.
From BNL’s One Week to Hootie & The Blowfish’s Hold My Hand, fans should be ready for a start to finish singalong at every stop.
We’ve also heard the news that both Hootie & The Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies are working on new music. For the Darius Rucker fronted quartet, this will mark the first album release since 2005’s Looking For Lucky. It’s a big move and a new start for the band, with their new label UMG Nashville (also Darius Rucker’s solo label) onboard for the album and whatever might come next.
Country fans have been all-in on Rucker in his time as a country star. And with eight #1 singles on the US country charts, we’d be willing to bet that some of those fans are going to take a chance to see Rucker and his original bandmates doing their thing.
For their part, Barenaked Ladies are working on the follow-up to their 2017 album, Fake Nudes.
Tickets are in presale now (until December 6) and go to full public sale on Friday, December 7.
If your love for 90s/early-2000s pop is still strong, we recommend grabbing tickets to a show near you and indulging your musical nostalgia with Hootie & The Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies in 2019 on the Group Therapy Tour.
