7 Reasons We’re Excited to See Maren Morris at Boots & Hearts 2019!
Boots and Hearts is bringing a stacked lineup of country music talent to Burl’s Creek in 2019, including one of our most anticipated sets of the summer, Maren Morris.
The Texas singer-songwriter is one of the most talented we have in country music right now. And as she finds new and higher levels of success with her latest album, with her growing reputation on tour, and with each confident step she takes, we fall in love a little deeper. As a singer, she wow us. As a writer, she gets us. And as a performer, well we can’t wait to see what she does in Oro-Medonte, ON this summer.
She’s a genre-bending, boundary-pushing, limit-testing, no-bullshit-taking star, and we’re all the better for having her in the industry.
And we’re excited to see her coming to the Boots and Hearts stage. So excited that we’ve put together a list of seven reasons we can’t wait to see Maren Morris this August. Have a look and tell us what you think!
Ready? Let’s Go!
1. My Church!
My Church was the first song we fell in love with from the Arlington-native, and we still want to sing along to at the top of our lungs every time we hear it.
We are in full anticipation of Maren breaking into the multi-Platinum single and the huge main stage crowd getting loud and ready to sing. If we were going to predict potential goosebump moments during the festival weekend, this would be one of them.
We don’t know when My Church will come in the setlist, but it doesn’t really matter. Early or late, we’ll be ready!
2. She’s A Boss!
Maren Morris is the best. She stands up for women in the music industry. She stands up for herself and makes the music she wants to make. She does all of that and makes great records and entertains the hell out of her fans.
Whether she’s climbing the mountain to hit #1 on the country charts (I Could Use A Love Song), crossing over to pop with Zed on The Middle, or speaking out against inequality and sexism behind-the-scenes, Maren Morris is making things happen and getting things done!

3. She’s New To The Festival!
As we get ready for the eighth instalment of the Boots and Hearts Music Festival, we’ve become used to seeing artists return for second or third times in front of the Ontario country music crowd. And while it has been awesome to see an artist like Thomas Rhett graduate to the headlining spot in his return last year, it’s exciting as hell to welcome Maren Morris for the first time.
It’s awesome to see artists you love as many times as you can. But there’s something extra special about the first time.
4. The Middle!
No, it’s not a country song. No, we don’t care!
Maren Morris came together with Zedd and Grey, and together they released The Middle. And it’s a JAM! The song has been certified multi-Platinum in both Canada and the US. It’s a bop that gets people moving, and we truly hope that we’ll hear it live in Maren Morris’s set at Boots and Hearts.
For those who are old-school, if it ain’t true country, I don’t wanna hear it, sorry ’bout your luck. In 2018, The Middle was played between sets all weekend long at B&H, and every time we watched as the crowd sang and danced and cheered along with it. This is 2019 and a jam is a jam, no matter what genre it might belong to.
5. New Music!
Maren Morris released her second major label album, Girl on March 8, 2019. The album is already a hit, having reached #1 on the US Country Album Chart, and #4 on the overall US chart. The songs, well they’re awesome and fans of the country singer have already taken to them with the kind of connection artists hope for.
Along with bonus tracks like Kingdom Of One, the songs from Girl are going to mean new additions to Maren’s setlist for anyone that’s seen her in the last couple of years. It also means that there’s a good reason for Boots and Hearts ticket holders to dive into the record and learn the songs. You don’t want to be the guy or girl that doesn’t know the words when everyone around you is singing.
6. A Surprise Duet?
We don’t know the full schedule details for Boots and Hearts Music Festival yet, but there is a chance that Maren Morris and her husband, Ryan Hurd will both be on the bill on the same day. In fact, both artists have Thursday, August 8 listed on their websites as Boots and Hearts.
If that is the case, it wouldn’t shock us, but it would be a cool surprise to see Hurd come out to the stage to join Maren Morris for a song or two as she headlines. They write together, they know each other about as well as any artist could ever know another, and we’d be into it.
7. Opportunity For Bonuses and Extras!
When Maren Morris takes the stage, she’ll bring the big country music singles, the crossover smash, and the album cuts. But there could be more. Special releases like Kingdom Of One, Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters, or maybe a song she wrote on like Jessie James Decker’s Clint Eastwood will make their way into the set.
Morris could also surprise us with a cover or a medley or any number of things that we don’t know about or fully expect. The possibilities are nearly endless. But it’s exciting, the not knowing, because we do expect that whatever Maren Morris gives us during her performance at Boots and Heart 2019 will be awesome!
Do you have another reason you’re excited to see Maren Morris at Boots and Hearts? Leave a comment telling us what it is so we can see it, and everyone else can too!
