Lagwagon Announces New Single, Album, and Tour!
It’s a big day for Fat Wreck Chords legends, Lagwagon. The band is back and ready for action with a brand new album, a major tour, and to kick things off they’ve released a new single, Bubble.
If you remember the 90s Fat Wreck Chords punk glory days, that information just might make you giddy.
Railer will be the first new album from the Goleta, CA since 2014’s Hang. The 12 track record includes the new single, 10 more originals and a cover of Journey’s 1983 classic, Faithfully. In a press release announcing the new music, frontman Joey Cape says, “I really specifically tried to make it feel and sound like an old Lagwagon song, so I borrowed a lot from early records for it. And then from there, I just kept thinking that the rules have to be that Railer feels like something Lagwagon might have done in the old days. I wanted to see what would happen if I didn’t overthink things and I just tried to write a record as quickly as possible without losing the quality I expect from myself as a songwriter.”
Hit play and listen to Bubble now.
In listening to Bubble, our early assessment is that Cape and the band accomplished their goal. And between now and October 4, 2019, when the album is released, we hope to hear more and that we still feel the same way.
But before the album comes out, the tour starts. On September 27 in Tacoma, Lagwagon teams up with Face To Face to co-headline the first of 24 dates. As of now, the only Canadian stop on the tour is in Vancouver on September 28 at the Rickshaw Theatre. We don’t know if more north of the border dates will be added, but if there are, we’ll be ready.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, August 2, 2019 at noon local time. Check out lagwagon.com/tour to learn more.
Check out the full list of dates to see if there’s a show near you. Pre-order Railer now. And stay tuned for more information as it comes!
