Pearl Jam Announces 2020 North American Tour, Opening in Toronto

Pearl Jam North American 2020 Tour Announcement 1

UPDATE: Pearl Jam announced on Monday evening that they are postponing dates on the North America 2020 tour in the interest of public health and safety as COVID-19 continues to spread. See the band’s Facebook post here for more information.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Pearl Jam have announced their 11th studio album and the accompanying North American Tour for spring 2020!

The album, Gigaton is available for pre-order now and will be released on March 27. Before the release though, the band will hit the road to start their 16-date North American tour in Toronto. They’ll play three more Canadian dates in Ottawa, Quebec City, and Hamilton before playing a dozen shows in the United States, ending with two concerts each in Los Angeles and Oakland.

Gigaton comes six and a half years after their 2013 album Lightning Bolt and will give fans a chance to dive into new music from Pearl Jam once again. And the chance to see them play that new music live, mixed with fan favourites and gigantic hits like Evenflow, Jeremy, Daughter, Given To Fly, and World Wide Suicide is an exciting prospect.

It is a bummer that the first four dates on the tour come before the release of the album because fans won’t have a chance to learn the new record before Eddie and the boys rock out to it.

BUT the flip side of that coin is the special surprise factor that Canadian fans will get to experience, hearing some of the new music from Gigaton live before anyone gets to sit down and listen to the entire record.

We’ll let you decide which opportunity is cooler.

Ticketmaster Verified Fan registration for North America: 2020 tour tickets is now open – and closed on Wednesday, January 15 at midnight. Tickets will then go on presale through the Ticketmaster Verified system on January 23 at 10 am local time in concert cities.

The next day, January 24, public sale will open for a limited number of tickets at each stop. That sale will open at 10 am local time as well, and if that’s how you’re planning on getting tickets, we hope you’re quick on the keyboard and your internet is speedy.

All in all, there’s a lot to be excited about if you’re a Pearl Jam fan. New music is exciting. A new tour is exciting. A chance to take a Euro vacation to see them overseas this summer if you want to is exciting as well. It’s all great!
