The Cadillac Three, Country Fuzz Album Review & Vinyl Giveaway!
The Cadillac Three has officially released their much anticipated new album Country Fuzz, and weâre here for it!
The Nashville country rockers have had us revved up and waiting since Jaren told the Toronto crowd that the record was nearly ready during a show at The Opera House back in September 2018. And now that itâs here (and weâve been listening on repeat for the last few days to get ready for this post) weâre happy to share all of our thoughts about it.
AND weâre also happy to give you a chance to win a copy of Country Fuzz on vinyl in this post. Use the widget at the end of the review to earn up to eight entries, and you could be a winner. Weâll mail out the prizes when things are wrapped up â and if you win, youâre going to want to turn up the speakers on this one.
Fans of TC3 that have been paying attention and getting ready for this record may already be familiar with Hard Out Here For A Country Boy, Slow Rollinâ, All the Makinâs Of A Saturday Night, Crackinâ Cold Ones With The Boys, Back Home, Dirt Road Nights, Heat, and Long After Last Call. For a lot of bands these days, those eight songs would be an entire album, but The Cadillac Three have eight more songs to complete the 47-minute listen.
Off the top, Country Fuzz sets the tone for a good time with Bar Round Here. The same guitars, rhythm, drinks, and smirky smile is there and it rolls right into The Jam at track #2 too. These guys know who they are, they know what they do, and they continue to do it at a high level.
To paraphrase Crackinâ Cold Ones With The Boys⌠Theyâve got big guitars, check. Theyâre big southern, check. Theyâve got that TC3 fuzz that fans continue to love on an album thatâs made for them.
This record is also a lot of fun to listen to because we can start to imagine what itâs going to feel like to see the band play it live. At Boots & Hearts 2019 we got Crackinâ Cold Ones With The Boys but that still leaves us with 15 tracks we want to hear live with the ring of the guitars and the beat of the drums with the cheers of the crowd. Our plan, catch them in April when they roll through Toronto (with Oshawa before and Ottawa after) on their 2020 tour.
There are a lot of songs to pick through in trying to point to one that we think you should really crank up and get into. Weâll narrow it down to the eight songs that werenât pre-released (mostly to make this process easier for us) and try. Even then, itâs tough. So here are two honourable mentions first: Blue El Camino and Jack Danielsâ Heart. And that makes Labels the one that gets the âyou gotta hear itâ spot. The track bangs, but also has that underdog, outcast, weâre all a little broken but weâre alright vibe. âYou canât judge by its cover til you hear it spinninâ on the turntable. Thereâs always more behind the title.â
Itâs been (a long) two and a half years since the band released Legacy in August 2017 and weâre glad to have new music from The Cadillac Three here in 2020.
If you like The Cadillac Three, weâre confident that youâll like this record. Country Fuzz is TC3 to a T.
Ready for the contest? Use the widget to earn up to eight (8) entries for your chance to win. And tell a friend too, because maybe youâll both win and you can talk to each other about how much you love Country Fuzz on your record player.
