RALPH Reigns with Release of New GRADIENCE EP
The closer I get to live music again, the more I imagine every new song I hear being performed for a live crowd of happy, singing, dancing music lovers. And RALPH‘s new six-song Gradience EP has me counting down the days til I walk through the doors.
RALPH has become indie pop royalty. She is beloved by those who know. She is fierce. She is fashion. She is inclusive and inviting. And she makes bangers and ballads.
The introduction to this EP was Tommy, back in April when Spring had just sprung and our fancy had lightly turned to love – and pop. From the first listen it’s a mover, a ‘make you wanna dance-r’, a certified bop. And that remains true now, we just sweat more when we dance to it in the summer heat. And we’ll sweat even more when we’re shoulder to shoulder singing/screaming along as we dance when RALPH sings it live. I honestly can not wait.
Tommy belongs on your favourite light bright pop playlists. Put it with Carly Rae Jepsen all day. Put it with anything that makes you smile.
If you haven’t heard it yet, or you just need a dance break, hit play on the official video for Tommy now.
RALPH – Tommy
Love Potion came next in the pre-release lead-up to the Gradience EP‘s drop – and it fits nicely in the song #2 slot behind Tommy on the tracklist. The dance party keeps right on rolling as RALPH with this one, and that’s not a bad thing. There’s enough difference on Love Potion to immediately remind you that even in her upbeat dance floor tracks, RALPH’s got range and is going to try things and make ’em work.
It’s been a month and a half since Love Potion came to us, and ya, by the time we got it, we were very ready for the rest of the EP.
So, hit play, sing along, and then get to tracks 3 thru 6.
RALPH – Love Potion
Mood Ring (#3), Strawberry Meltdown (#4), and Took The Fun (#5) are all more for the RALPH catalogue of wins. She’s going to be able to dip into her bag of tricks and pull them out to play whenever she wants. The fans will have learned them, will feel the beats and words and vibrations. They will all work and make people happy.
Music that makes you happy is music you should hold onto.
And that brings us to track #6. Rules Of Love. The new single, the tear-jerker, the sad ballad. It hits hard, but begs for you to play it again anyway.
RALPH and Nathan Ferraro should be proud of this one. And should be celebrated for digging into whatever places and memories they had to, to pull out these words and feelings and sound. Dang!
This is the raw, authentic kind of song that RALPH told us was important to her when we talked to her back in Spring 2019. It’s clear that she still feels the same way after listening to this one.
If you are ready for a hard turn away from the things Tommy did to you and made you feel… and you are ready to feel vulnerable and emotional… please hit play on Rules Of Love now.
RALPH – Rules Of Love
RALPH continues to do what she wants to do, and when she does it, we fall for it, head over heels. She’s cool and kind and talented and lays herself bare in pop songs that might make you dance and might make you cry.
She’s done it again on the Gradience EP. And she’ll do it again I’m sure.
Hit play on the stream below and listen to the whole thing together now. Enjoy.
