The Sheepdogs & JJ Shiplett – The Calgary Stampede – Summer Stage 2021 Photo Review

The Sheepdogs - Calgary Stampede 2021

The live music continued in Calgary at the Stampede Sunday night on the Stampede Summer Stage with headliners The Sheepdogs, and opener JJ Shiplett.

You know The Sheepdogs, you’ve known them since Rolling Stone, and they just keep on rolling as we get back to stages and crowds and rock and roll in 2021.

Yes, it’s been 10 years since the cover and the breakthrough, it feels like yesterday, but also like the band has just always been here with us.

ps. If you haven’t streamed or downloaded the new EP from the The Sheepdogs, No Simple Thing, this is a good time to find it and hit play!

Check out the photos from Sydney Butters, and scroll down for JJ Shiplett.

JJ Shiplett opened the show, and we couldn’t have picked anyone better if they’d let us.

JJ has been one of our favourites for a few years now, and any chance for him to share his songs, that voice, and his live show with the band is something we highly recommend you try to see.

Call it Americana or rock-country or alt-something, it doesn’t matter to us, we just want more JJ Shiplett.
