Ever After Music Festival 2018 Wrap

Ever After Music Festival Day 1

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon at Bingemans with the sun shining in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The day had finally arrived for the Ever After Music Festival 2018 to begin. The gates opened at 5:00 p.m. and there were thousands of eager festival-goers waiting to explore what Bingemans had in store. The crowds finally had a chance to burst onto the festival grounds that consisted of everything from bubble soccer to ferris wheels to fire dancers. The grounds included three stages. The Ontario Stage for local talent, along with the “Upside Down House” and the main “Excalibur Stage”.

Some highlight performances from Day 1 included a high energy back to back set with Midnight Tyrannosaurus and Megladon followed up with a great set by SNAILS on the main stage and a deep DJ set from Pendulum to finish up the Upside Down House for the night. Day 1 was closed out with a heavy set from Flux Pavilion and Doctor P that left us looking forward to the rest of the weekend. Everyone had just gotten a taste of the craziness that the next two days would be filled with.

Ever After Music Festival Day 2

Day two had an earlier start with the gates opening up at noon, with a long day of music ahead. Liquid Stranger was a joy on the main stage and attacked the crowd with a set full of intense riddim. 12th Planet was definitely a fan favourite from the weekend. He was celebrating his birthday, which made his set even more of a party for all involved. Bear Grillz made sure to come out and get the crowd to sing 12th Planet happy birthday which was a nice touch that had everyone smiling. He delivered a set with sounds as extraterrestrial as the man himself. Borgore gifted the crowd a performance with a broad range of different sounds ranging from hip-hop to dubstep.

The second stage can’t be forgotten, with names such as Drezo, Daniel Portman and Claude Von Stroke, which shifted the crowd from headbanging to head bobbing. The day was closed out with a huge change of pace from the rest of the performances throughout the weekend, with a beautiful set from Illenium. He left every last person with a smile from ear to ear while they watched his nature-filled visuals, paired with his cinematic drops. With day two coming to a close, we were left with only one day left to look forward to.

Ever After Music Festival Day 3

The final day of the festival had everyone filled with high hopes and definitely delivered. Sullivan King brought heavy metal and dubstep together as one. It was a sign of the intensity that was brought to the table for the final day of the festivities. The second stage had a jam-packed lineup for the final day. Squnto attacked listeners ears, while Boogie T offered a more psychedelic soundscape. Spaces Laces and Downlink kept the energy alive with another back to back set that kept the crowd looking for more. Terror Reid was the lone rap performance of the weekend. The performance was short and sweet but was a great break from the electronic genre. Getter closed out the second stage for the weekend with a set filled with laughs, hip-hop and heavy bass. He delivered the same energy that all his fans can never seem to get enough of.

Back to the main stage was BadKlaat followed up with an underground set that was filled with aggressive hard-hitting drops. The next act was a performance that nobody could have prepared themselves for. We were faced with a back to back to back performance including 12th Planet, Cookie Monster and Virtual Riot. The set was It was an hour and 15 minutes of sheer pandemonium, which didn’t offer a single break. Kayzo continued the show with a presence on stage that was unmatched. He spent more time on top of the stage then he did behind it. The night was concluded with a mesmerizing set from Excision with a picturesque sunset setting behind the stage.

Ever After Music Festival 2018 Day 3

The crowd finished the weekend strong, with the audience moving as a single unit to the deep bass coming from Excision’s performance. I think a fair share of the festival goers suffered a sore neck for the rest of the week. And that was it. Ever After Music Festival, 2018 was finished for another year. It seemed like it was just 5:00 pm on Friday, but it was already 10:00 pm on Sunday night. Ever After was definitely a whirlwind of heavy drops and swaying crowds and every bit of it was enjoyable. All I have to say is I can’t wait for next year!

Roy Woods at the London Music Hall Photo Review

On Thursday Night, Roy Woods performed one of his final shows on his Say Less Tour, at the London Music Hall. The venue was packed with eager young fans waiting to see the Brampton local. There was a showcase of other local Canadian talent consisting of special guests, Booggz and Tripsixx.

Woods doesn’t disappoint when it comes to his live performances. His amazing vocals were complemented with a intensity and charisma that brought the stage to life while he performed. The crowd couldn’t get enough of it.

If you have a chance to see him live don’t pass up the opportunity.

Roy Woods lives up to the hype.
