Some Of My New Favourite Things

I’ve been away for a while. Well, not away, but not posting. Sorry about that.

But now I’m back.

I just installed Twitter for BlackBerry, and so far I dig it. So I figured I would bust out a list of new things I like in the world.

Some of these things aren’t new at all, but they’re new to me.

– The Old Spice ads: These things are genius. What started out as a funny commercial turned “I’m on a horse.” into a catch phrase. And now Old Spice has launched a social media campaign that has the opportunity to do something the brand has never done before… Make it cool.

– Skype: I’ve never used Skype. Well at least until Thursday. I just installed it at work and imported my Hotmail contacts. So far I’ve talked with Adam in Ottawa and we discussed the need to open a karaoke bar on Parliament Hill. But that’s an other idea for another day. I dig the fact that things are laid back at work and I can chat from time to time. So if you have Skype and wanna toos ideas back and forth or shoot the shit or whatever, feel free to add me @phjoshua.

– My new headbands: My hair is hella long right now. Longer than it’s ever been in my life. And I’m okay with it. For the most part it looks alright with my beard and glasses. But there are times when it’s a pain in the arse. So, on the Canada Day long weekend I picked up a package of elastic headbands on a trip to Shoppers Drugmart. I wore one for the rest of the weekend and have had one on from time to time since I got home as well. It’ll catch on. You’ll see.

– The Team 990: I sit at my computer from 9-5 all week with m head down working on my own projects. And while I do so I’m free to listen to whatever I want. As a sports fan my thoughts recently turned to sports radio to fill some of that time. And because Toronto Maple Leaf fans call in to The Fan 590 all year round and I’m not a Leaf fan, I was quickly turned off. But then I pulled up The Team 990 stream from Montreal and I’ve been rocking it daily ever since. Highly recommend. I dig the hosts and most of the callers and especially the clips of Montreal Canadiens glory played from time to time.

I think that’s pretty much the list for now.

What are you guys digging these days? What’s new?

Also, big shout out to Dave for reminding me that I love writing this blog and I needed to get back to it.

I’ll be back soon. I promise. Be good to each other.
