Fall is Here! Rejoice in the Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

Fall is here my friends, there’s no denying it. I’ve turned off the fan beside the bed, started to wear sweats at home and have turned the thermostat up in the apartment.

It’s not all bad though. As a sports fan I’m overwhelmed with the options that I have coming to get my daily fix. There will be playoff baseball, NFL, NCAA and CFL football, NHL hockey (oh boy I am so ready #gohabsgo) and NBA basketball (less excited for the rebuilding Raptors).

Autumn also means sweater weather, which I am a big fan of. It’s just so dang comfortable to put a bulky sweater on and walk to work, or to sit at my desk at work and feel bundled in and at ease while I’m hammering away on the keyboard.

Ladies also look great in their jackets and sweaters in the fall. I know that most dudes will tell you that summer is great because of the skimpier clothing, but I’ll take the fall and the start of the mild bundling. Let’s just write it off as a personal preference; I know it’s not the norm.

The biggest thing it seems about fall is something that I’m not in on… talk of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Latte is blowing up my Twitter feed on a daily basis. So much so that I’m tempted to give in and get on the bandwagon… but I’m resisting, for now. I love me some pumpkin pie, so there’s a strong chance that I could actually enjoy it. It seems like I’m talking myself into it… Eff. I’m excited too that I will be able to turn the oven on to make dinner without turning my tiny apartment into a friggin’ sauna. It just feels right. There has even been talk of doing some baking. That might be a little ambitious, but it sounds like a great idea. Easy baking ideas and recipes are more than welcome.

What’s not to love about fall? I mean, there’s so much going on in the world, everyone is a little more comfortable in their skin, the humidity (oh God the humidity) has gone away and I can sleep at night.
I don’t want to start a fight or anything, but if you don’t like fall we may have to fight. And I’m a lover, not a fighter.

So get your sweaters and cute scarves out. Go for a walk without sweating your ‘you-know-whats’ off and enjoy the season. It only comes once a year!
