Non-Secrets About Me!
There have been a lot of tweets popping up these days with people telling secrets about themselves. But let’s be honest – the chances that these little tidbits are actually secrets are pretty slim.
With that in mind I won’t be sharing any secrets today – not because I don’t have any – I do – but because they are secrets for a reason.
Instead I’m going to drop a bunch of about me’s on you. Take a look and see if we have anything in common!
–I love country music. This isn’t a secret to anyone. I’ve loved country since I was a kid. I tweet about it all the time. And when I have a chance to sing it at karaoke in the right crowd I’m always a happy boy.
–I dig singing karaoke. Again, if you didn’t know this you may have been under a rock.
–Comic books make me happy. I’m not a lifelong lover or collector or reader. I didn’t start my real appreciation until adulthood. But man I dig ’em.
–I still enjoy going to church with my mom when I’m home to visit. My faith is mine, I won’t ever push it on you. I’m just saying that I find peace and calm in those old, rural, wooden pews.
–I drink a lot of coffee. I’m sure that there are those of you out there who drink more than I do. But I do drink more than most. I love it. The taste, the buzz, the chemically induced relaxation that it gives me – all of it.
–Hamlet is the best thing ever written ever. I know that is subjective. I know you may not agree. That’s okay.
–I eat a bunch. I may not eat as often as I should. But when I eat, I eat a lot of food. And I’m not picky.
–I love people. I love meeting people and learning about people and helping people. Interaction is one of my favourite drugs.
–I really like words. Language is great. Scrabble is awesome. People who write well rock my world. Please don’t ever forget that words can be beautiful when they’re used the right way.
–I’m a sports geek. It’s crazy. I’ll watch and follow pretty much anything. I love the drama and skill and excitement. I love cheering and winning with my teams. I’m a student of strategy. I love the stats and percentages and odds. I’m all in.
–I’m lucky to be alive. On January 21, 2000 I was in a crazy single vehicle accident on my way to school. I rolled through a ditch and took out a couple fence posts and hit a tree and totalled the car and then I walked away.
–I crush a lot. I probably won’t stop til I’m dead. I love creative, talented, smart, funny, attractive, kind people. I’m drawn to them. I want to be around them. I admire them. I strive to be like them. I crush on them.
–I’m a happy guy. I love smiling and giving high fives and hugs and laughing and being with fun people. It’s no coincidence that Silver Linings and Awesome are the themes for 2011. They are happy things.
I’m sure that I could go on forever. But I think we’ve covered some good ground. Like I said, none of these points are secrets. These are just truths about me.
Keep smiling kids – Spring is on the way. And that’s Awesome!

Do you ever go to karaoke? Know any good places in Toronto?
In fact I have been to many karaoke joints in Toronto and Ottawa.
In Toronto I’m a fan of Tequila Sunrise on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as Toby’s Famous on Sundays and Mondays… and if you’re looking for a private room experience I’ve been to BMB and XO – both were a good time.
Keep in mind though, more than anything, the people you are with will make or break your karaoke experience!
