Hey – Wanna Go to NXNE 2011? Let Me Send You!
Good morning boys and girls.
It is with great pleasure and a huge smile on my face that I am writing to you this morning. You see, after much hinting and working and waiting I can now tell you that I have TWO 5-day North by Northeast 2011 wristbands to give away.
side note: NXNE charges taxes and service fees totaling $11.30 for all tickets – including the free ones. But it’s better than paying $61.30!
This is the 17th year for NXNE and by all accounts it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. There are over 650 bands on the bill and more than 40 films set for screenings. And you get access to all of them with your 5-day wristband.
Now, there are a few steps that we need to follow to get you entered to win, but nothing that will require blood, sweat or tears. Unless you don’t have AC in which case you may be sweating because it’s getting pretty hot in Toronto.
Step 1. Read this blog.
Step 2. Click the link here http://bit.ly/lIwvQA
Step 3. Register at PriceDodger.com. (red button in the upper right corner)
Step 4. Verify your account using the email that comes to you.
Step 5. Leave a comment at the bottom of this post telling me why you want to go to NXNE 2011 and which email address you used to sign-up at PriceDodger.com.
It’s as easy as that. No jokes. 2 lucky winners will be picked at random by me and a group of my peers who won’t be entered in the contest.
Make your answer stand out. Tell me why you should be the winner.
If you have never checked out North by Northeast do yourself a solid and be there. If you’ve been going every year for as long as you can remember, you know exactly why you want to go back.
If you’ve already got your tickets, enter anyway. And tell your friends.
I wanna be a giver my friends. Help me be a giver!
Be awesome. Good luck.

I love the NXNE festival. It gives me a chance to see artists I might not see otherwise and in a small venue context which is truly the best way to see any artist. You feel a connection. I would love to be able to go from venue to venue soaking up the music. Picking up cd’s and downloading tracks on the fly. I’m not in a position this year to purchase a wristband and would hate to miss it.
Great contest Josh! Already RTed your tweet about it too.
Why do I want to go to NXNE? Well, to be perfectly honest, it is probably one of the only major Toronto music/arts events that I have never attended and I am always trying to get myself some more culture, cuz culture does a person good. I am not the biggest indie rocker, it is true, but I do always like hearing about new bands and seeing them live in-concert – especially at a more intimate show – is the best way to discover new bands and new music. As an aside, Josh you know I am in the middle of trying to post daily on my own blog so going to NXNE will certainly help give me more content to post about. It will also result in that much more exposure for NXNE and the artists who are a part of it if I write about them on the interiorwebs. That is a win for everyone in my opinion!
My email address I used to register is leeeevy AT gmail.
I signed up using the same email I have on here.
Why do I want to go to NXNE? Because it’s my birthday weekend, I lost my job last week, there are 36512836518 bands I must see, and I will seriously cry with happiness if I get to see The Descendents at a venue I cannot disclose at this moment.
Not the most epic, thought out answer, but it’s the truth. 🙂
Great contest first of all! I’d love wristbands, I’m volunteering for the NXNE festival it would be great to check out all the festival has to offer, Theres many great bands I’d like to check out.

Good luck to everyone who enters! To the person who wins: come by Mitzi’s Sister on either the Thu, Fri or Sat – I’ll be stage managing the venue 🙂
As promised, I am here, entering your kickass contest! I would LOVE to win an NXNE wristband! It’s always a highlight of my year but somehow this year I have not managed to get myself a wristband. I need to remedy this! Why? Because I love music – specifically, the kind of music a lot of the acts at NXNE will be playing. It’s always great to see bands I already know I enjoy. But I love NXNE specifically for the thrill of just deciding to show up at a venue I like to see bands I’ve never heard of and discovering someone who is new to me playing something that totally grabs my attention and will stick in my head for the rest of the week. It’s happened to me every year, with bands like The Midway State, Said The Whale, Fox Jaws (great bands all, check ’em out).
Fingers crossed! : )
I registered with the same email I used to post this comment.
I want to go to NXNE bacause I love the indie music scene of Toronto. And I want to take pictures of the shows!!!
