Project: Breakwater – It’s Coming!
Hey there people, I hope that things are awesome in your world.
I’ll tell you what’s awesome in my world -> an ex-colleague and good friend has been a busy dude putting together a sweet looking short film shot, edited and based right here in Toronto.
This guy built this flick from the ground up. He wrote storyboards on his lunch break at work. Got locations and back-ups and actors. Filmed in hot weather and some crazy conditions. And truly bled Project: Breakwater from start to finish. In fact, I believe he’s still bleeding.
I saw the trailer last week at Parts & Labour in Parkdale during the wrap party for everyone involved in the flick – and friends and lookers on like me. And now the website is up, the trailer is live and we’re counting down to the first screening!
Today I’m just an excited friend that knew the website was live and has the trailer, poster, photos, behind the scenes goodies and more.
And because I like to share I wanted to bring some of that to you good people of the internets!
Take a look at the synopsis from the website for Project: Breakwater
At 13:41 Eastern Time on June 23, 2010, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake shook Ontario, Canada.
The same week, a section of downtown Toronto was fenced off to all but high-ranking government personnel, ostensibly for the G20 summit.
One week later, at approximately 16:45 Eastern Time, power went out across downtown Toronto for over an hour.
These events were not unconnected.
As summer begins to wane into autumn, Detective Benoit Michaud investigates what appears to be the suicide of prominent journalist Sandra Templeton. Michaud soon realizes that the suicide may have involved her stalker, a man with a mysterious past who underwent secret military training. The intricate web of deception expands as Michaud uncovers a report Templeton had been working on in which she describes the real reason for the G20 fences in downtown Toronto. As Michaud delves further, he realizes the murder is more than it seems, leading him to discover that the crime is part of a vast conspiracy by shadowy forces attempting to cover up the connection between the G20 fences, the earthquake, and power outage all occurring during the summer of 2010.

The flick was written, directed and edited by Brian Clement. He’s a quirky and awesome dude with some sweet tats, a season’s pass to the Blue Jays and a love of what he does in film.
If you wanna give Brian some love leave a comment here or find the Facebook for Project: Breakwater – either way you do it is fine – just give the boy some lovin’!
