Pass The Pop – I Still Love It [video playlist]

Earlier on I asked Twitter if anyone was ashamed of the 90’s pop music that they still love. Everyone said no. I think I was surprised.

But the more I think about it… I’m not.

These songs (the many, many, many that we loved and still love) were catchy. Some were good stories. Some were sad. Some were really well written. Some weren’t. And some were just plain old fun.

This all came up because earlier this week Jess and I were alone in the office and I played YouTube VJ for a couple hours and we played through some “classic” radio/video hits and sang along as we worked away. It was awesome. And slightly embarrassing to know all of the words to songs origionally sung by teenagers more than 10 years ago.

But I love to sing and I dig pop music, so I sang anyway!

And yes, I did just say that I love pop music.

I know that when I post about music it’s usually about country music or the Foo Fighters… but I love pop too. I love singing along and the hooks and all that comes with it. Play me a radio hit and let me act a fool any day of the week.

Before the Biebs and Selena and Rihanna and The Brothers Jonas and Glee and the rest of today’s top popsters there were these bands. The ones who cranked out some of the hits that I still love singing along to as a 30 year old man.

Now, at least one of these songs was actually released in the very early 2000’s – but it’s my blog and I’ll included whatever the heck I feel like!

And I also want to know what you loved/still love. Put your links in the comments. Send us all to the videos of the pop hits that made/make you sing and dance and love and laugh and etc. I can’t wait to see what shows up.

To get us starter here are 6 tracks that I love. There’s some Can Con for all of my north of border brothers and sisters. A little Brit/Can combo and a duo of boys from down under to go with 2 American girls.

I think it’s a pretty awesome little playlist.

Now tell me what you think!

Sky: Love Song

The Moffatts: Misery

Savage Garden: I Want You

Mandy Moore: Crush

Jessica Simpson: I Think I’m In Love With You

All Saints: Never Ever
