2013 Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training Countdown!

Blue Jays Spring Training PracticeLadies and gentlemen, boys and girls, baseball fans of all ages… we are only 16 days away (Feb. 12) from pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training for the Toronto Blue Jays!

It’s an excited countdown with the hopes and dreams that Blue Jays fans have for this new upcoming season.

With the signing of Mark DeRosa it seems that the Jays have their roster set for the season and are ready to hit the practice field, get the kinks out and start the pre-season schedule. I know that I’m ready for all of that to happen. And as much as all players, coaches, media and fans say that the spring training record doesn’t matter… but I want to see some wins early!

There are 16 games on the spring schedule and I hope that we get to see at least 10 wins.

  1. Feb. 24     vs. Baltimore Orioles
  2. Feb. 25     vs. Boston Red Sox (split squad)
  3. Feb. 26     vs. Minnesota Twins
  4. Feb. 27     vs. Houston Astros
  5. March 1    vs. Tampa Bay Rays
  6. March 2    vs. Philadelphia Phillies
  7. March 5    vs. Baltimore Orioles
  8. March 9    vs. Detroit Tigers
  9. March 10 vs. New York Yankees
  10. March 14 vs. New York Yankees
  11. March 16 vs. Baltimore Orioles
  12. March 19 vs. Houston Astros
  13. March 22 vs. Boston Red Sox
  14. March 23 vs. Atlanta Braves (split squad)
  15. March 25 vs. Philadelphia Phillies
  16. March 26 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Note: Spring training looks a little different this year because of the World Baseball Classic… but it is what it is and I’m excited for the WBC and the Blue Jays.

I love this time of year as a baseball fan. We’re all hope and excitement. Nobody is even playing catch in a uniform yet, and that’s why it’s so good. There has been zero (opportunity for) disappointment, zero (new) injuries and zero losses.

Here’s hoping that you’re just as excited to support the hometown 9 this season as I am… it seems like a lot of people are!

First game is not going to be easy. The Orioles finished the first half of the last season with a winning record. But my hopes are high, let it be a good season for Blue Jays!
