5 Reasons We’re Excited to See Walk The Moon at WayHome 2015

Walk The Moon WayHome AnnouncementWith the release of the full schedule and set times for WayHome we now know that Walk The Moon will be playing the WayBold stage on Sunday at 8pm. We also know that we want to be right in the front to see what these 4 dudes from Cincinnati have to offer.

Thanks to our friend Allegra we’ve been listening to more than just Shut Up and Dance in the last few weeks – and it wasn’t really hard to come up with 5 reasons we’re excited to see Walk The Moon at Burl’s Creek on July 26th.

So, without any further ado, here we go!

5 Reasons We’re Excited to See Walk The Moon at the WayHome
Music & Arts Festival.

Shut Up and Dance (live)

Walk The Moon LiveNo matter what you think of Walk The Moon’s smash hit, it’s damn catchy. And we also think that it offers a pretty great opportunity to be HUGE in a live setting with a few thousand festival fans included.

At the 2:18 mark of the song, as the verse ends and you’re ready for the chorus to kick in, there’s a moment. Every time we hear the song we can imagine it live, with the music breaking down to a simple beat and thousands of people clapping along in unision. And then, when the chorus comes in it’s simple and begging for the crowd to sing – and it all builds into 1 big scream of SHUT UP AND DANCE!

Can’t wait.

The Rest of the Music

Like we said, Allegra turned us on to the rest of the Walk The Moon catalogue, and we haven’t been disappointed. Tracks like Tightrope, Shiver Shiver, and Different Colors could be a whole lot of fun to hear. If you haven’t listened to any of the rest of the music that this band has to offer, do yourself a favour, open up Spotify or Apple Music, or even YouTube and have a listen. And then let us know what you think!

They’ll be Working to Make New Fans

Walk The Moon on stage fansYes, the band has been together and making music for a few years now, but with only the 1 big single out to the world, they are still working to build a brand looking to make new fans. And when an American band gets to come up for a 1 hour set at a big festival like this, they’ve gotta work!

We’re eager to see what Walk The Moon has planned to close out the music on WayBold stage. And we’re even more eager to see how the crowd reacts.

Energy Energy Energy

From all of the clips we’ve seen online it looks like these boys know how to have a good time. There’s a whole lot of smiling and laughing and dancing. And that should 100% translate to the crowd. Festival crowds want to have fun. They want to dance. And they get all of their energy from what’s happening up on stage.

It’s a crazy cycle from the band to the crowd to the band again, and if this set is going to be a success the energy level is going to have to be HIGH!

The First Time is Always Special

Walk The Moon Crowd SurfThe first time you see a band live can be a very special experience. It can also be an awesome memory 2 or 5 or 10 years later when you hear them on the radio or see them on TV or see them on stage again.

When everyone else gets excited about seeing Walk The Moon the next time they’re in Toronto for a show, we’ll be able to say we saw them at WayHome – and here’s hoping that you’re going to be able to say it too!

Hit play and enjoy Shut Up and Dance, now!
