Boots and Hearts 2015 Artist Preview: Emerson Drive
What? Yes, in case you hadn’t heard Emerson Drive has been added to replace the unfortunate loss of Little Big Town. I’m disappointed we won’t be seeing Little Big Town this time around but we understand that Jimi’s health comes first. And I’m excited to see Emerson Drive back at Boots and Hearts and thrilled that they’ll be hitting the main stage on Sunday at 5:15 just before Thomas Rhett. It’s a great spot!
Note – to accommodate this change, Dallas Smith has been moved to Saturday at 7:00pm just before Eric Church another fantastic spot.
Previous headliner for the opening night party my first year, in 2013, they’re the very first
country band I saw live and it was the first step towards my love of country music!
They’ve been touring since July 4th to support a brand new EP, Tilt a Whirl, and they’ve got a brand new summer single, Till the Summer’s Gone. It’s pretty catchy and checks off all the boxes for a great summer hit. It makes us think of sun and sand, it makes us want to dance, it makes us think of long summer days and nights, for those of us not fresh out of college, it makes us think of our younger days.
They’ve won major awards here in Canada and in the US, which is not an easy thing to do. With over 30 nominations they’ve had 10 wins including Billboard Magazine’s Top New Artist, Canadian Country Music Awards Group of the Year, and Academy of Country Music’s TopNew Vocal Group. Releasing albums for 10 plus years, Emerson Drive are seasoned professionals and you can expect a fantastic show. I can hardly wait!
Coming off a two year break, the band has put touring at the forefront and we can expect to see lots of upcoming dates.
