Boots & Hearts 2016 Preview: Diamond Rio Top 5
The 3rd Boots & Hearts 2016 performer announcement was HUGE, and it included one of my favourite country acts from the 90’s and early 2000’s… Diamond Rio.
From 1991 to 1998 it was nearly impossible to listen to the Crook and Chase Countdown without hearing a Diamond Rio song in the Top 40, and usually in the Top 10 or higher. Their harmonies were smooth, they had hits with fun, fast tracks as well as ballads, and they did it all with humbled grace and a smile.
To say that I’m excited to see these guys included at Boots & Hearts this summer is an understatement, I can not wait to see them up on stage belting out the hits as this year’s legacy artists.

It wasn’t easy to pick only 5 songs and videos to share in this post, so if I didn’t include your favourite, please leave us a comment here or on Facebook to tell us what we missed.
In no particular order…
Meet In The Middle
Diamond Rio’s first number 1 hit, this one comes from all the way back in 1991 when they burst onto the country music charts. I long this song… the chorus is one of my all-time favourites.
Beautiful Mess
One of my favourites from Diamond Rio after the end of the 90’s, this song is sweet and if you’ve never lived some of the symptoms that Diamond Rio is singing about here, I hope you someday will.
Unbelievable
This is the most fun song on the list. I love singing along to it and can’t wait to be singing along when Diamond Rio plays it live at Boots & Hearts… guys, if you’re reading this, please play this song.
One More Day
Diamond Rio’s first number 1 hit of the 2000’s, One More Day is a lovely, sweet, beautiful song that might just make someone cry in the audience this summer.
How Your Love Makes Me Feel
Another one of my favourites from the era, this song is silly and fun and the guys looked like they had a ton of fun when they made the video. It’s also going to be one that’s fun live, and that the crowd should be 100% into.

Despite the negative association now, “I Know How the River Feels” is it for me. Sang my ex-wife down the aisle to it at our wedding.
That whole “Unbelievable” album is right in my country wheelhouse.
