10 Performer Predictions for WayHome 2016!

The WayHome Music & Arts Festival is still a few months away… but we’re already getting anxious to find out who’s going to playing on the stages at Burl’s Creek this July.

Joshuan WayHome Art and Music Festival-9555And since we haven’t had a performer announcement yet, we figured it was time to make some guesses/predictions of our own!

We know that there’s a strong connection to Bonnaroo through Ashley Capps, so we’ve looked at the recently released list of performers that will hit Manchester, Tennessee and added some Canadian content, because we also know that Republic Live has a reputation for supporting home grown talent.

We have no idea if any or all of these 10 artists will be coming to Canada to play for us July 22, 23, 24… but we wouldn’t complain if we were right.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

If there’s going to be a hip-hop headliner at WayHome in 2016 it just might be Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Last year we had Kendrick, and he owned the stage… in 2016 we would not be surprised to see Macklemore pull Bonnaroo and WayHome double duty!

Death Cab for Cutie

There never seems to be a lack of enthusiasm for Death Cab shows, and adding them to the WayHome lineup would be a clear indication that the team wants to give festival goers something to write home about.

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats

Hot as a pistol with Son Of A Bitch, Nathaniel Rateliff would be a great afternoon act on a side stage, much like Vance Joy was in 2015. Here’s hoping we’re right about that one, because the single is a sing along that we don’t wanna miss.

The Katherines

Some Canadian home grown from BC, these girls are making a name for themselves with a new single and video… there’s also a chance they hit CMW in Toronto this spring which would be a nice launch pad for a WayHome set.

Hollerado

If we’re talking about Canadian acts, let’s just go ahead and add Hollerado. As far as we can see they aren’t busy the weekend of July 22-24, so why wouldn’t they fit on a stage at Burl’s Creek?

Elle King

Elle King is on a lot of “ones to watch” lists for 2016, and it wouldn’t bother us to watch her live and in person this summer. Get ready to sing along to Ex’s and Oh’s!

The Arkells

Another Canadian mainstay… the boys from Hamilton love to perform, and they a bevy of fans in Ontario – we can imagine them up on stage getting the crowd fired up for a headliner after the sun goes down.

Halsey

Young, but becoming a known commodity, Halsey looks to have a big year in 2016… and getting on stage at a festival with 40,000 people in attendance would be a pretty significant step in accomplishing that!

Father John Misty

There’s no shortage of love for what Father John Misty does and the music he makes. Already on the list for Bonnaroo, he could be another double duty performer at WayHome 2016.

Alessia Cara

With a 2015 debut album (Know-It-All), this Brampton native wouldn’t have far to travel to hit WayHome, and the local area crowd could be exactly what she’s looking for in the middle of the hottest time of year.
