Field Trip 2016 Preview: Dear Rouge

In the top five list of artists I’m looking forward to seeing at Field Trip are Dear Rouge. I really love these guys!

Dear Rouge WayHome Art and Music Festival2013’s I Heard I Had put them squarely on my radar and they’ve just continued to soar. Although it’s only been a few short years, Drew and Danielle McTaggart have taken the music scene by storm. From unknown to playing the Junos and winning the Breakthrough Group of the Year in just over four years, that’s pretty impressive.

Dear RougeWondering how this is possible? They both came into this project with years of individual experience. Add to that great talent, determination and having amazing people working for them in the background. It’s the perfect storm for success. These guys are always amazing live, great to watch, great to listen to and as a photographer, Danielle is a dream subject.

Here they are, my top five Dear Rouge Videos

Dear Rouge Top 5

Thinking About You

The band’s first official single, this is a great live version played at The Fortune Sound Club, Vancouver, B.C.

Black To Gold

The title track from the band’s debut studio album, this video is dark, haunting and highlights Danielle’s voice. I love this one.

Best Look Lately

Showing off their fun side, Best Look Lately is a super fun video. Great looks, loving the guitar and keys in this one.

Tongues

Another one of my favourites, it’s got a great message. Who hasn’t been on the receiving end of the razor blade tongue.

I Heard I Had

You may recall their ridiculously hot performance of I Heard I Had on this year’s Juno’s. Their second single, it’s still my favourite. Loving the blonde hair Danielle!
