Ready Set Roll: Chase Rice at Boots & Hearts 2016!
On a sunny Sunday evening, on the fourth day of Boots & Hearts 2016, on the main stage, with thousands of people standing in the front, and thousands more relaxing in the back… Chase Rice ran out onto the stage and rocked the damn thing.
From moment one there were cheers for Rice, and they didn’t let up he ripped through his biggest hits, some unexpected covers and a medley that we could all sing along to. The entertainment value was high. The energy was higher. And ain’t nobody complaining about how good Chase Rice looked up on that stage in front of the #BH5 crowd.
Note: The most unexpected entertainment came when Chase invited a fan named Priscilla up on stage for Ride… and things got a little crazy. The two were seated side by side on stools while Chase set a sexy scene and tried to get ready to sing, but Miss Priscilla had a little trouble keeping her hands to herself and her focus on the song. There were laughs from the crowd, and the entire time we wondered what the heck was going to happen next – and we can guarantee that Priscilla will never forget it!
Throughout the set you could see hands up, phones up, drinks up, and girls up over the crowd. They waved and swayed and clapped to the beat. Voices sang and screamed and pushed for more from the North Carolina boy and his band. And they got it.
This band, man. Chase Rice sings new country. Chase Rice has a lot of country music fans. But this band, these dudes could fit with any rock and roll act, hold their own, and put on a hell of a show. Both guitar players and the bass player were invited to lead us in a song that we could all sing along to, and they did. And this is what we got…
1) All The Small Things – Blink 182
2) What’s My Age Again – Blink 182
3) Friends In Low Places – Garth Brooks
And then it was the drummer’s turn to show off – and he did too! Jeremy Roberson (@jfinnyrob) played his solo and tore it up for as close to a hometown crowd as the Toronto boy is going to get this summer. It was awesome – and one of those unexpected pride moments when a big name American act is on a Canadian stage.
From top to bottom, Chase Rice did an amazing job keeping the party rolling on day 4 and getting the crowd ready for Tim McGraw to headline the night. This dude can sing and write and he’s got more than enough energy and passion to share on stage. Be ready to see him for a long time coming.
