SiriusXM Announce Top of the Country Contest Semi-Finalists

SiriusXM Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Country Music Association, has announced the nine semi-finalists in the Top of the Country Contest.

With three semi-finalists picked from each of the three regions (West, Central, East), Top of the Country has whittled down the competition to some strong emerging country artists. In fact, there are a handful of fan favourites and radio Top 20s in the mix, as well as Top 10 singles from Andrew Hyatt (On Me), Shawn Austin (Paradise Found), and Jason Benoit (Gone Long Gone).

We’ve had the chance to see some of these artists perform in the past, and if the others are as good as we’re betting they are, we know this is going to be a tough competition.

From this list of semi-finalists, three finalists (one from each region) will emerge. The finalists will then receive a stage spot at one of three major country festivals in summer 2018 (Big Valley Jamboree, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, plus one SiriusXM sponsored festival in Ontario), as well as an invitation to Nashville for a SOCAN songwriting camp, with the grand prize winner also taking $25,000 and an invitation to a SOCAN songwriting camp in Pender Island, BC.
