Chart-topping country music rising star Brett Young came to the Boots & Hearts 2018 main stage and he showed tens of thousands of fans exactly why they’re going to want to see him back again soon.

The California country boy charmed the crowd with his big smile and smooth voice, playing a selection of his hits, covers, and new music for the Canadian fans gathered at the stage. And from start to finish, the response to the twice MLB drafted former pitcher (Tampa Bay Rays and Minnesota Twins) was outstanding.

More than once the Boots & Hearts crowd took over the singing duties during Young’s set. And they were more than happy to do so. In his short major label career so far, Brett Young has recorded and released some bonafide fan favourites and hits. So when he and the band broke into songs like Like I Loved You, You Ain’t Here To Kiss Me, and Mercy, it was no big surprise that they got really loud and showed him their love.

We have to assume that it was gratifying and exciting for Young to see and hear the response to those hits. And as much as he loved that, how they responded to the new songs that he shared with the crowd must have felt wonderful. Here Tonight and Used To Missing You both got great reactions at Boots. With the news that Here Tonight will be his next radio single and the first release from his upcoming album, fans have something new to look forward to and be excited about.

Brett Young served as the perfect lead-in to Sunday night’s headliner, Thomas Rhett. His energy got everyone ready. His sing-alongs for everyone warmed up. And his connection with the fans in the evening sun was exactly what we were all looking for.

As the band played their final song, the crowd reached their loudest point. The singing on Sleep Without You was enthusiastic from the first note. And at the end, when tens of thousands of country music fans were asked to take care of the last chorus themselves, they gave it everything they had.
