Chris Buck Band, RDNKN Single Release and Interview

We caught up with Chris Buck at Boots & Hearts this summer to talk about his music, the plans for the new single and more.

After it’s radio release (date) and video premiere online, Chris Buck Band‘s RDNKN is now available everywhere, and we have a feeling that it’s going to land on a lot of country fans’ playlists.

RDNKN comes across as both a tongue-in-cheek and earnest love letter to the simple country life. The lyrical visuals of beer can chicken, double-wide trailers, camouflage, and slicked back mullets are as cliche as they come, but it all works.

The vibe of the song is also perfectly captured in the music video, with the band and fellow party-goers in their country best having the time of their lives. There’s nothing serious here. This is all about fun. And they nailed it.

We talked to Chris Buck about songwriting when we sat down with him at B&H, and he told us that he loves it and the entire process. He added that he just lets it all come to him during a session. He doesn’t go in looking for an upbeat track or a ballad, and he doesn’t discriminate when the ideas start flowing. That’s pretty easy to see when we step back and compare songs like Top 20 single, That’s When You Know (with Kira Isabella) and RDNKN.

Note: Isabella made a surprise appearance to sing That’s When You Know on the Front Porch Stage at Boots & Hearts, and the country music fans gathered at the stage loved it.

On the subject of writing and new music, Buck also told us that there’s a new EP on the way and that the band was looking at a fall release. We know that plans are always subject to change, but we’ll be ready for it whenever it’s ready for us.

It was a busy summer for the Chris Buck Band, they hit the road to play as many stages as possible for as many country fans as they could get in front of. And they loved every minute of it. Chris told us that he loves it. He loves travelling and having the chance to see new places around the country. And he loves to play music. That sounds like a pretty great situation to us.

And, with RDNKN out now, and more new music on the way, we’re pretty sure that Chris Buck Band is going to have the opportunity to travel and play a whole lot more in the very near future!
