Big Sky Music Festival Announces First Artists & Early Bird Tickets
Big Sky Music Festival has become the newest addition to Ontario’s summer festival calendar, and it’s going to be fun!
Republic Live, producers of the Boots & Hearts Music Festival have announced the new fest, some great names for the stage, and some fun pieces that are going to make Saturday, July 20 a bunch of fun for everyone that shows up.
EDIT: Unfortunately, headliners and country music legends, Alabama have pulled out of the festival due to health issues. In a release on Thursday, Invictus Entertainment Group said, “co-founder and lead vocalist Randy Owen is suffering from severe vertigo and migraines. Randy is currently under doctor’s care and being treated.”. While it is a disappointment, we hope that Owen’s treatment is successful and quick. In response to the cancellation, Republic Live says, “Despite the news, we look forward to hosting Travis Tritt, Diamond Rio, Mason Ramsey, Jason McCoy, and The Redhill Valleys to an eager group of fans, joining us for a memorable first year!”. They added, “In support of our country music community, we will be honouring ticket holders who had purchased a ticket for the Alabama concert, scheduled for Friday, July 19th at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa. Please arrive with proof of purchase to the box office on-site and direct any questions to contact@burlscreek.com.”.
Along with some classic country music, you can expect a bevvy of classic cars at Big Sky. The festival’s website says they’ll be featuring 50’s & 60’s cruisers and 70’s muscle, which means we should see a lot of great colours, great leather, and some very shiny metal work. The car show is included in the ticket price, and as far music festival experiences go, it’s a pretty cool one.
On stage, the team is bringing in some big-time country music hit-makers. Already, Big Sky has announced Alabama, Diamond Rio, and Travis Tritt. Between the three of them, there are more award wins, #1 singles, and fan favourites than we can count on our hands, and together they make up a really good start to a classic country lineup.
The festival says that more acts will be announced soon. At this time we don’t know who many acts will make up the complete lineup, or how many stages will be set up on the grounds. But for a one-day show, we can expect at least a few more opening acts to be added for the afternoon hours.
Ticket prices for the Big Sky Music Festival start at $99.99 (early bird pricing) with tent camping and RV spaces available to add on. Ticket bundles (multiple tickets, tickets + camping) are also available and make for a great bargain. We know that these folks know how to put together a campground, with years of experience for tens of thousands of festival-goers, and we’re sure that this set up will be another good time for campers looking for some fun.
Tickets for Big Sky Music Festival go on sale Friday, February 1, at 10am!
The festival will also bring a craft vendor market and great food options to Burl’s Creek Event Grounds. And if past fests are any indication, those will also be great additions to the live music on the big stage.
All in all, this announcement does feel like the start of something that is going to be a lot of fun for country music fans, folks who love great classic cars, and especially those who do both.
Stay tuned for more announcements, news, updates, and previews as we learn more about and get closer to the Big Sky Music Festival!
