Down To The Roots – Introducing Saveria from CTV’s The Launch

The Launch Season 2 Saveria Feature 2

Saveria started singing professionally when she joined Mini Pop Kids at 9 years old, but now, with her brand new single, Down To The Roots, she’s been launched.

The London, ON native, was the third chosen artist of The Launch season two on CTV, and we caught up with her in Toronto the day after her episode to talk about the song, the show, and a bunch more, including a round of 5 Quick Questions.

By the time we had a chance to sit down and talk to Saveria she’d already been through the TV circuit, done phone calls with outlets across the country, and still had more to do after we finished. We asked if that had left any time so far to take a moment to herself and let the reality of what was happening sink in. She told us that she hadn’t really yet. The schedule and staying busy had kept her firmly in the moment, and she was okay with that. Saveria told us that she likes to be busy, so the go go go of Thursday wasn’t a bad thing for her. But she did admit that any downtime was likely going to result in her getting really tired, really fast.

What was apparent though was that she was excited. Even if she had been on the go since the early morning hours, she was still ready for more.

When we asked if she’d received a lot of messages since the Wednesday night announcement that she was being launched, she told us that her phone was still buzzing. Family, friends, fans, and people she hadn’t talked to in years have all been reaching out with congratulations on her big prime time moment.

While we were talking, we asked about the song and if there was a moment that Down To The Roots started to feel like it was her song. Saveria was honest when she told us the first time she heard it, she started to feel that connection. She added that the moments of being named the chosen artist and then hearing the final mix of the song really cemented it, and now she truly feels like this song is hers.

Down To The Roots is a jam, and the performance that Saveria put on it is high rotation worthy!

There was a moment in the show, during the recording process that we talked about too. If you watched, you know the one we mean, when Scott and Jon asked Saveria to go up and get a bigger, higher note. On her first try, she didn’t. And then, she went for it, got it, and it seemed like something big was unlocked. Saveria told us that the moment was an important one. She took these notes from experienced, talented people and was able to do what they knew she could, even though she doubted it. As we talked about it, we asked if that moment is something that she’ll be able to keep with her in the future, and she said yes. That memory and that experience is one that she’ll be able to go to as she records and performs, knowing that she can do it.

Saveria told us that in the time between filming The Launch, and this week’s episode, she’s been working hard. With her day job, and writing, singing, and recording, there hasn’t been downtime. She added that there’s more writing to do. Her face lit up as she explained that she really wants to get in a studio and let out all of the creative ideas that have been building. Whether it’s a line here or a run or a melody that’s bouncing around in her head, it’s time to get it out!

While we were with Saveria, we got her to play a round of 5 Quick Questions with us. Check it out to see who she’s listening to on a road trip, who she’d love to duet with, and more!

As she starts this new chapter in her career, she’s focused, excited, and ready to put in the work. With the experience she already has, she knows that there’s a lot to do. But the passion and desire to do what she loves is more than enough to keep her going.

Thanks again to Saveria for taking the time to sit down with us. Stay tuned for more from her in the future. We’ll be watching!
