The Interrupters at 102.1 The Edge – Sugar Beach Sessions

The Interrupters - 102.1 The Edge Sugar Beach Session shot in Toronto by Trish Cassling

The Interrupters stopped by 102.1 The Edge today for a quick Facebook Live followed by a sweet four-song Sugar Beach Session.

The L.A.-based, four-piece punk/ska band have been together since 2011. The brothers Bivona, and Aimee Interrupter come together to deliver unadulterated punk intensity. Aimee is the quintessential front person who demands your attention. With her husband Kevin on lead guitar, backed by Justin on bass and Jesse on drums, the Bivona brothers balance the whole package.

The Interrupters filled the small space with music and a powerful energy. The band are familiar with Toronto and have played here many times. However, this time, they’re playing the renowned music venue, The Danforth Music Hall, thanks in some part to the massive success of their single Kerosene.

When they played their biggest radio hit to date, Kerosene, the crowd rewarded them by singing back every lyric. That’s always a special moment.

Finishing off their set with Gave You Everything, the band left us all wanting more. Aimee, Kevin, Justin and Jesse all hung back to meet fans, sign things and take photos. It’s one of our favourite things about Sugar Beach Sessions.

If you want to see them in Toronto, you’re out of luck. The show is sold out, but there are still tickets available for tomorrow’s show in London.
