David Boyd Janes Wins Emerging Artist Showcase at Boots and Hearts 2019
David Boyd Janes continued his red hot summer by capturing the Chevy Music Emerging Artist Showcase crown at Boots and Hearts 2019!
The Toronto country artist took the stage on Thursday as one of eight finalists in the contest and earned his way to the final two after a rousing performance that engaged the crowd and showed the judges what he brings to the table as a performer. The energy, enthusiasm, and talent that Janes displayed got him to the main stage on Sunday, where he performed again for an even larger crowd, and then was named the winner of the 2019 contest.
David Boyd Janes takes home the grand prize which includes a single releases with Warner Music Canada (Brett Kissel, Meghan Patrick, The Washboard Union), a trip to Nashville with a professional photoshoot, songwriting session, and spending money, and the chance to play Boots and Hearts events between now and the 2020 festival. He can add that to the prize he took home from the Country Wild Music Festival earlier this summer, and the opportunity to play at the Havelock Country Jamboree that he earned as well. Like we said, it’s been a red hot summer for the Another Day singer.

As we talk about David and his big win, we also want to congratulate Justin Tyler who also made it from the round of eight to the final two. Justin put on a great show in his limited time on Thursday and went all out again on Sunday on the main stage. Keep an eye on him in the future.
In the end, though, it is David Boyd Janes that can look ahead at his career knowing that he’s got an opportunity to do something special. Previous Emerging Artist Showcase winners including Tebey, James Barker Band, The Reklaws, Jade Eagleson, and 2018 winner Kris Barclay have all had their lives and careers changed by the contest. Now it’s his turn to make his mark.
So, congratulations to David on his big win. And congrats to Justin and the rest of the top eight, Mackenzie Leigh Meyer, Rebecca Rain, Dylan Burk, Brad Saunders, Brady Kenneth, and Amber-Jo Bowman on reaching the finals and giving it everything they had for the crowd.
We can’t wait to see the talent in the 2020 Emerging Artist Showcase!
