Summer Time is perfectly timed for the sunshine season and it works. The boys are in fine form with this one, and while we can’t be with them for a live performance in person, we that folks are going to be singing along at home to this one before long, pretending they were in the front row.

Notes: Tebey is a hell of a songwriter and storyteller and he’s back with Happened On A Saturday Night to show it. You could be from a small town or a big city and there’s a good chance that you’re going to hear part of your own story when you listen to this song. And that’s why it’s a winner. It’s for everyone. Tebey continues to push forward with his sound and vision and ambition, and if he keeps pumping out jams like Happened On A Saturday Night, we’re here for it.

Notes: Margo Price’s new album, That’s How Rumors Get Started, was scheduled for release on May 1, 2020 – but in the midst of the pandemic, was rescheduled for July 10. But, to get us through the next few weeks, we do get Letting Me Down. It’s a shame that Price doesn’t get more mainstream love for her work – and we hope that changes with Letting Me Down and That’s How Rumors Get Started. It’s good. She’s great. And this is country music worth celebrating.

Notes: Hunter Brothers have the tightest harmonies in Canadian country music, and on Hard Dirt they pair them with great lyrics and the production of Hunter Hayes. The song has been dedicated to frontline workers and everyone affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and is an ode to hard work, perseverance and everyone who has reached down for something extra when times got tough.
