A prayer for hope, peace, and love in the form of a country song when so many people need it, the song is sung beautifully and shows us once again that Mickey is the real deal.

Notes: Jojo Mason is back with Chemical and he nails it with an upbeat track that will make you want to reach for the volume so you can turn it up. Jojo’s high energy spirit shines through on this one, and has me closing my eyes and imagining his smile as he sings it live on stage as soon as he has a chance.

Notes: Olivia Lunny’s new EP To The Ones I Loved is on the way (August 28, 2020) and Hold Me comes as the third pre-release single from the collection. The former winner from The Launch, Lunny continues to grow in her sound and presentation with her pop releases and Hold Me keeps that going. With an electronic base layer, the track moves continuously for its 2:52 runtime and allows her voice to shine over top of it.

Notes: The line “It’s hard to make friends in your twenties, it’s even hard to make ’em in your thirties” is a harsh shot across the bow to start A Boutique Affair – but it ain’t wrong. The Aussie rockers get a little dark in this one, but the subject matter doesn’t drag down a song that still rocks out when it wants to. With their new EP This Is What Honesty Sounds Like (August 28, 2020) on the way, Catholic Guilt have my attention and I’m looking forward to the rest.
