U2 Top 10 – by the Numbers

U2 has built the kind of career that rock bands don’t plan for or dream of, it’s been too big to be a realistic goal. It’s the ‘close your eyes and imagine that you’re the biggest band in the world’ dream. The legendary status, legendary library, and legendary legacy dream that they’ve earned and owned over the last 4+ decades.

To give them some love now for no reason more than they are U2 and have a fantastic Top 10, we did a little math and have a list here for you to listen to, sing along with, and enjoy.

Note: This month also marks the 20th anniversary of All That You Can’t Leave Behind, which gives us two of the songs on the list – so we can call that a reason too!

We looked at U2’s most played songs on Spotify, checked them out on YouTube, and then combined their plays to come up with the rankings on this list. Together, these 10 songs have more than 2,480,000,000 plays across the two platforms. That’s a lot of spins. And when you consider that their career peak in popularity came decades before either of these online streaming options were available, it’s pretty dang impressive.

Now, because this list is ranked by numbers, there are head vs heart arguments that pop up. Personally, I have One at the top of my U2 list. And, I’m likely to try to squeeze Mysterious Ways and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me into my Top 10.

Check out the U2 Top 10 below and leave a comment telling us which song(s) you love most (on the list or off of the list) from U2’s legendary career.

Enjoy!
